Hello.

Hi,

I'm Matt. Live in Bergen, Norway. I'm the founder and editor of Norways largest online wreck and dive site database dykkepedia dot com

I have been diving quite a while, but only limited experience from eCCR. (MOD1 in 2006, on a classic)

The call of the deeper Norwegian wrecks has been very hard to ignore in recent years, and after an honest and somewhat emotional discussion on risk, my wife and I agreed that for the diving I hope to do in the coming years, that a restart from scratch on CCR would be the right tool for the job. I would not have been able to make this commitment without the support of my family, and will be approaching this new direction in my hobby with respect and care.

I have a strange affinity to water which is hard to explain. As a small boy I would lie with my ear next to the radiator to hear the water passing the pipes. I would kick and scream when my mother tried to pull me away from drain covers, where I would peer down into the water, wondering what was below. My father was kind enough to get me on a PADI skin diver course when I was 8, and then full scuba when I was 10.

That was 26 years ago, and I've never looked back, and love the feeling of submerging under water today every bit as much as I did as a child.

I have been following ccr design over the years and I am currently considering between a Meg or JJ. I will be testing both units this autumn and then will make my choice.

Diving cert wise, I have a lot of plastic, but many of the courses were of low standard and not worth the card they were printed on. I dive a hogathian rig with friends who have taken GUE education. I in no way see myself as a "DIR" diver, it just happens that I have taken many of the same procedures into my own diving, but at the core to be perfectly honest I'm a "Doing it Duke" diver.

All the best

Matt

Meg or JJ... hard choice! Neither bad.

Welcome aboard.

Both are good units. If it matters at all the jj factory is closer.

Hello and welcome. I expect that you will find that most here don't find your affinity for water so strange.

Hi Matt!

Why not join the rEvo-lution!!!

In less than one year, we have gone from zero rEvos in Norway to three!

I can understand your reasons for JJ and Meg though, as thatīs what your buddies usually dive. And it is easier to get the "RB-80-look" with those...

Hi, The rEvo looks very nice, but yeah for me it is important to dive the same as my buddies. I think both units will do for me, but will be getting a closer look at them in the coming weeks.

Thanks everyone for their kind words of welcome.
