Greetings!

I have been divng open circuit since 1979 amd enjoy wreck diving on Canada's east coast. Not one to make rash descisons, it took some time to take the plunge into diving CCRs! I am currently on my MOD1 under the tuteledge of Dave Sutton. Day 1 has gone extremely well and informative...day 2 about to begin!

Welcome aboard John, Let the beatings begin!

We're starting a course with three divers from Halifax Canada here, and the shop is resembling a rEvo factory after a hand grenade goes off. Bits and pieces in all quadrants and divers rigging harnesses. Going to be a busy week.

Dave

Thanks Dave!

A very interesting day 2... I had forgotten what it is like to be on the receiving end of presentations! I had also forgotten what it is like to get a new piece of kit and personalize it. All in all the day went very quickly culminating in a Hypoxic couch dive. Of course no dive is complete without the madatory visit to the local watering hole...

Thank you Dave for a very informative day! You and Jitka are fantastic hosts!

Looking forward to first breaths on CCR!!!!

MOD 1 is finished! 30 hours behind the wheel sees us safely back on the east coast!

Mod 1 was a very busy week that culminated in a boat dive in the not so salty waters of Lake Michigan! A lot was learned by all and diving the CCR for the first time in open water was everything I expected it to be! Unfortunately the weather gods deemed that we were only to get one day on the boat. Sad, but after thinking that 3 ft waves was childs play (and it is in the N Atlantic) we were exposed to an unexpected surface current that was a wee bit challenging. The wreck of the Prince Harry was a good dive that deserves a closer interior inspection on a return visit!

Once again, thank you Dave for a very informative course both in academic and practical learning. Your attention to detail and gracious hospitality surpassed our expectations! I would be remiss if I didn't thank Jitka for her hospitality and superb boat handing skills! Thanks Capt Jitka!!!!

Now it's time to get the units in the water and put training into practice. I am sure we will have follow on questions as we get more hours on the units over the winter in the brine of the N Atlantic before moving to deeeper waters where the RBs will truely be in their element!

Cheers and Safe Diving!

John

Thanks for the kind words, glad you all got back to Canada safe and sound.

This was a great class, enjoyed it all. Here's a pair of pics from the graduation dives, no lame "quarry only" training done here! Drysuits, dry gloves, 3 foot seas, and a pair of shipwrecks make it all come together. Nice job! I'll post a few other pics when time permits, still drying out gear after your class followed by three more charters on MOLLY. Naturally the lake was as flat as a sheet of glass the day after you left.....

Thanks :)

Hey Dave,

Sorry I didn't get a chance to thank you sooner. Still lacking an iPhone and just finished my open water scuba instructor course here Wednesday. So I've certainly been busy since getting back. They forgot to mention on the 30hours drive back they quized me for three hours straight on dive skills for my instructor course.

I certainly learned a lot from you on our course, the rEvo is a great unit, look forward to logging the dives/hours with the unit; and continuing education. I enjoyed the quarry dives and the one wreck dive. I can't wait to get more dives on the Great Lakes. I'm pretty excited to be hitting the salt water with the rEvo soon and taking out my nicely rigged canister light.

Hopefully I remember not to yell 'fishie, fishie fishie' next time I'm out for a dive. No promises there lol

Both you and Jitka were wonderful host! Thank you for taking such great care of us.

Glad to see you here, we had fun with all of you. Congrats on the Instructor course!

"Fishie Fishie Fishie" is never a bad thing to yell underwater..

Here's your smiling self sitting on the bench... there's a wreck at the other end of the rope so go find it! As well as climbing back aboard. Tough day on the lake... it kicked my ass. You did great.

Best,

Dave
