JJ-BOV advice

Hi,

I just purchased a second hand JJ-BOV that I intend to use on my Meg.

The BOV breaths very well in CC mode but when I switch to open circuit I find the exhale breathe has a lot of resistance, is this normal?

Is this a symptom of over tightening the exhale bung or because the exhale diaphragm is small?

Thanks

Louis

I doubt you were overtightening the cover over the exhale valve. The new ones don't let you tighten it too much, on the old ones where you can (like mine) it exhales fine but just breathes very very wet.

I've been waiting on my BOV since January. Jan is pretty horrible when it comes to providing any useful details about when it may be available. I was told April, then after hearing nothing for 6 weeks and expecting it to be well on the way, he tells me he is having trouble finding parts and hasn't sent me out one yet... YAWN this is getting frustrating!

I have ordered the left fed Dolphin version and I'll let you know how it is if Jakub ever decides to ship it. Two weeks and counting, still not shipped.

Part number is: GG_ShrimpBOV_Dolph_OCLeft

Also ordered the Diva Hud Holder and will have a sleeve made to allow it to fit the Shearwater HUD - part number is: GG_HUDH_rD

The Shrimp is a beautifully built piece of kit, I know a couple of the guys have it on their JJ's.

I have the JJ BOV as well, but not 100% happy with the way it exhausts in open circuit mode on hard inhalations. I've done the Nick B mod and tuned it up, but still not 100% happy, so ordered the Shrimp.
