You are correct that the Prism 2 will continue to use Shearwater Electronics for the foreseeable future, and the Explorer will use the VR designed controller. From what I have heard they will also distribute the Sentinel in the US while VR continues to sell it in Europe.

Hollis, Prims2, Explorer and VRT
I asked Kevin Gurr. Oceanic bought a stake in VRT. Oceanic is owner of Hollis. Kevin is acting as a consultant for Hollis. He is preparing the Prism2 for CE certification. I'm going to Florida to do an instructor cross over for the Prism2 end of september and pick up my unit.
Kevin told that the Prism2 will also be available with VRT electronics (sentinel). But at this time it is not available (yet). Also the Prism2 manual only talks about the Shearwater electronics. Hollis also has a (active) SCR: the Explorer. This one uses the HUD and handset from VRT. |

AUP bought the rights to market the explorer SCR under the Hollis brand. They have not bought VR Technology.
VR will be providing electronics option for the PRISM No change to the Sentinel as I understand it. |
