CCR Explorers - the next step in CCR Diving!

Welcome back Unregistered

Closed Circuit Rebreather diving is a fast growing approach to diving. Be it technical or recreational, wreck, cave or reef, CCR diving can be relevant to the diving that you do. Jump in on our rebreather forums, find out more about who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

CCR Explorers is a Closed Circuit Rebreather diving forum run by divers for both CCR divers and those who are interested in learning more about our approach to diving. There is a lot of information around on the internet about Closed Circuit Rebreathers, we hope to bring it together here, at CCRX, into one resource which each of us can use.

So look around, tell us who you are, what you would like to see from CCRX, ask some questions, post reports of diving that you have done, or would like to do.

Safe Diving all from the CCRX Team.

Just wanted to say a quick hello - Just finished my air diluent class in Bonaire. Looking forward to buying a unit in the April timeframe and diving it as much as possible. Will be lugging it between Mexico, Florida, Seattle, and hopefully Hawaii from my base here in Bloomington, IN.

And here is hoping there is enough in the bonus pool this year so I can get a shiny new NERD to go with it.

» New Optima Diver

Nov 10, 2014 - 1:29 PM - by KFlood
Hello,

I just completed my Optima training after several years of thinking about going over to a rebreather. My buddy has had an Optima for 3 years now and after Dive Rite switched over to the Petral controller I was sold and just needed to find the right time to get one and the right instructor. That time came sooner than I thought and ended up exceeding my expectations. I'll post to the Course Reports forum in a bit about my experience.

I have been an UW... [Read More]

Hello everyone! Seattle diver here. I might have seen some of you on the NWDC. I am a divemaster/dive con in Seattle. I am considering moving over to a Hollis Explorer and wanted to join up here and be able to read, interact and get some good information on CCR and SCR.

Look forward to "seeing" you on the board :-)

Many of you know me from the OC deco/cave diving universe... Been diving awhile, just recently bought a used Meg and took MOD1 to expand my cave diving toolbox. I'm just dinking around getting hours in open water for now while I convert my rig to my preferred cave setup.

Cheers,
Richard

Long time lurker and realized I haven't actually posted. Been cave and deep wreck diving for a few years now, and CCR is a step I have been looking at for the last 5 years. I am still looking at the various CCR's out there while saving up the funds. Unit is primarily for cave diving and deep wrecks.
Torn currently between the new Optima and the Vision now that the Optima is powered by the DiveCan. The cartridge is a bit of a turnoff for me, but I have seen some guys build cartridges for... [Read More]

Hi everyone!

My name is Daniel. I've been diving OC since 2009 and I relatively recently made the jump to rebreathers. I bought a Hollis Prism 2 and got certified through IANTD. Been diving it as much as I can since then, though I haven't managed more than 50 or so in-water hours yet. I mostly dive in and around Stockholm, with the occasional trip to Egypt or The Philippines.

My goal is to keep having lots of underwater adventures in the future ... [Read More]
