CCR Explorers - the next step in CCR Diving!

Welcome back Unregistered

Closed Circuit Rebreather diving is a fast growing approach to diving. Be it technical or recreational, wreck, cave or reef, CCR diving can be relevant to the diving that you do. Jump in on our rebreather forums, find out more about who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

CCR Explorers is a Closed Circuit Rebreather diving forum run by divers for both CCR divers and those who are interested in learning more about our approach to diving. There is a lot of information around on the internet about Closed Circuit Rebreathers, we hope to bring it together here, at CCRX, into one resource which each of us can use.

So look around, tell us who you are, what you would like to see from CCRX, ask some questions, post reports of diving that you have done, or would like to do.

Safe Diving all from the CCRX Team.

I'm just getting into tec diving. I've only been to 154 fsw of Puako on the Big Island with an AL 80. I ran across CCR Explorers
while searching for deco info and have decided to not only pursue 'deep diving but to get a re-breather as well. (my wife thinks
they only cost a few hundred dollars ) I live near San Jose, California so i have to decide on unit and instructor.

This is a... [Read More]

Hi all, I have just completed my TDI air deco on my new DiveCan JJ and enjoying my new adventures in the world of CCR. Been diving for 4 years in all OC configurations and as my depth has increased the truth that diving below 50m on OC, especially in the chilly UK is crazy and CCR is the only any to go. So here I am.

Looking forward to reading people's posts and opinions and picking up so good tips(maybe leaving some too).

Nice to meet you all.

Or not as the case may be.

So although not new to the world of diving, I've finally decided to dip my toe into this strange CCR world.

I've been a certified tec diver for 15 odd years but, due to financial draws, sold all my gear some years ago to finance a family. Now things have settled down, I thought it was high time I got myself back in the water properly - I been keeping my eye in with some recreational OC 'me time' while on family holidays.

hi all,

planning a trip in Spring to Vancouver Island. Any suggestion on dive charters/diving centres RB friendly? I will take my unit with me (DIN fittings) so also any mods required to diving in CA are welcome.

Hi all.
I'm new to CCR and and to CCRX.
Recently (last month) did my TDI Air Dil Deco course on the JJ and absolutely loved it and I mean LOVED it. I don't have a unit 'yet' but hope to get one sooner than later. Most likely the JJ but I have been considering some other options too. (I will post a few questions later and hope you guys can give me food for thought on this matter)
I've been diving around 11 or 12 years I guess. Mainly with IANTD, some GUE courses. I'm open... [Read More]

Hi all, I'm looking forward to going bubble-less one day (and hopefully lugging around less kit than currently with twins etc.)...though I think I'm going have to get a bigger piggy bank in order to save up for that day
In the meantime, enjoying reading the discussions about various rebreathers on here.
See you on the forums !

Hello everyone! My name is Joe and I am a rebreatherholic. I have been lurking around both CCRX and RBW since a wee bit after I earned my dive certification. Recycling one's exhalation has always fascinated me and the idea of being almost completely silent during a dive hooked me onto the concept. In late July I finally purchased my own rebreather, albeit a used one. It was a Titan when I made the purchase but it did not remain so for very long. I have since made a new head for the unit that... [Read More]

I am a recent diver jj-bcc (April 2015) and I have only 72 hours on the shoulders.
I configured my JJ criteria GUE and I'm struggling against the weight of the unit. Now it seems to run pretty well.
I apologize from now for the bad language but ... I do not understand English and use google translator :-)

Thank you for welcoming me ... I hope not to make too noise :-)
