CCR Explorers - the next step in CCR Diving!

Welcome back Unregistered

Closed Circuit Rebreather diving is a fast growing approach to diving. Be it technical or recreational, wreck, cave or reef, CCR diving can be relevant to the diving that you do. Jump in on our rebreather forums, find out more about who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

CCR Explorers is a Closed Circuit Rebreather diving forum run by divers for both CCR divers and those who are interested in learning more about our approach to diving. There is a lot of information around on the internet about Closed Circuit Rebreathers, we hope to bring it together here, at CCRX, into one resource which each of us can use.

So look around, tell us who you are, what you would like to see from CCRX, ask some questions, post reports of diving that you have done, or would like to do.

Safe Diving all from the CCRX Team.

Joining the forum from the capital of Finland.

I started diving in fall 2008, and recently completed the (IANTD) MOD1 on Sentinel June 2014 (here in Finland), and last summer continued with (IART) MOD2 while travelling through Europe at Plansee. Currently have... [Read More]

» A Brit saying Hello!

Hi there,

have been lurking for a little while, thought it was about time I registered to say Hello...

A bit about me, I'm Jake, in my late 20's, currently backpacking around the world with my girlfriend. Been seriously diving for a few years now, I'm a huge tech geek and want to be CCR diving one day. I'll mostly carry on reading to learn in the background, but may ask the odd question here and there.

SO anyway, hello!

Another diver from Norway joining the forum. I'm GUE t2 and c2, with my primary interest beeing caves and mines. With the increasing gas bills and hopeless logistics of mixed gas diving in rural areas a real pain, I've recently taken a keen interest in ccr.

I'm in the process of buying a JJ (the only alternative in GUE) and plan to take the course pretty soon.

Hoping to pick up some useful knowledge here before (and after) that.

I currently live in San Diego and dive two units: a rEvo and a KISS Spirit. I am also a physician who is specializing in undersea and hyperbaric medicine at the University of California - San Diego (UCSD).

If anyone would like another dive buddy down here in Southern California, please let me know!

Hello guys,

Im a Diver from Germany who, for the most time, dives in the cold northern lakes and seas. I dont even own a wet suit ;-)
Most of my diving experience is OC, and i love to dive to wrecks around Norway, England and the East sea. Im used to TMX, multiple stages and stuff.
CCRs have ever been my dream to dive with, but being the only one with that dream in my group, it was never an option.
As Poseidon came up with the Mark VI I bought a unit and... [Read More]

I say hello to all.

I will likely never dive a rebreather because I am a coward and read it was about 10x more dangerous than OC. I was redirected here when I asked about Dr. Doolettes 2014 study on sheep regarding He and N halflife times.

Just a quick hello to introduce myself. I've only just started diving a rebreather, JJ being my choice. Had my training with Wayne of Dive Seekers, NJ. Great instructor who definitely pushes you, which in my book is a good thing. Currently I only have 20 hours on my rig and unfortunately winter is now knocking on the door, which will put a stop for a couple of months, unless I get a chance to head south. I've been reading through many of the threads and am enjoying learning from the experienced... [Read More]
